Welcome to the scenic and primative world of Idaho's Back Country. High Resolution Digital Images from the Back Country of Idaho. Idaho's rugged wilderness, The Corps of Discovery-Lewis and Clark Trail, and the trails of the Nez Perce. From dry country Sage Brush to High Mountain lakes and streams. Old mining sites and Gold country. Crystal clear fast flowing Rivers with white water rapids.
This Photo was taken September of 2009. Looking SSE from the FS road 500. Locally known as the Lewis and Clark Trail, or the Highline Road. Near Rocky Ridge Lake. On the Nez Perce National Forest. This is on the original trail of the Lewis and Clark expedition as they made their way through this wilderness in search of the Northwest Passage. The mountains in the forground are the breaks of the Lochsa River, beyond is the South Fork of the Clearwater, then the Salmon River Country. The Photo in the Logo background is Salmon River Country taken from the air in July 2005.
